The Deltec 'i' DC pump and the 'ix' AC pump protein skimmer range incorporate a new emergency overflow system that prevents the collection cup from overflowing in case the sump water level suddenly exceeds the specified water depth for the skimmers or the air inlet becomes blocked. As the water level rises within the protein skimmer body, the air supply to the pump will automatically shut off through the emergency overflow, further reducing the chance of foam flooding the cup if the sump water level ever rises due to a return pump failure.
